Hi everyone!  Getting in nice and early today - just in case!  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

I have always cut hubby's hair, don't think he has been to a barber in many, many years!

I remember in the 50s there was no barber in our village so we went to a farmer and he would cut it after he had finished work.

He had a spare room -not very big it may hold about ten people but the smell on his hands as he was cutting away --well can you imagine how bad his hands and work pants stunk--he only charged a tanner and mens 9d - he only died last year aged 85 -nice chap too.Smile

There was an time when I use to go in once an week to have my hair done...I ran into an military wife that worked in Hollywood many years ago..she was sooooo good...we experimented at times with my hair...one time we made it an swish of blonde up top, followed by and hint of red in dark blonde and followed in back with an warm light brown. I use to wear it in an "French Roll" back then and when she did this..the colors blended to make my hair rather softly glow in color...was much younger looking, but had the sophisticated look at the same time. She ended up owning her beaty shop. But then her hubby got transfered and she went with him, but she stopped the the store I use to work at to tell me she was back int town one time. By then, she was quite "pricey" to go an see...but then to, I've never found anyone else that could do this hair do with out ratting it up like and mess and breaking my hair off completely..she told me before she left Hollywoood that she was an expert at boufant hair styles. My sister not only had gorgeouos shoulder length blonde hair, but thick hair, I took her in one time to see her and she put it up in an french rolls also with tiny braided droplet rings... throughout the hairstyle sloftly falling downward...again, she never used an ton of hair spray and "ratting" and/or back combing to get it accomplished. Such were the days...I paid her what would be about $100 an week in today's money back then. see what "motherhood" does for you...though I was allowed to deduct some of it as an work expense also...being an supervisor.  I don't have the hair now that I use to have... thanks to the heart medications and stress I've endured through the years. It's an precious comodity to me.My cursor is simply jumping all over the place here lately...skipping letters and what not. Everyone is back at their house right now...time to relax an bit before the big game tomarrow.
