Diss is a beautiful old market town built around the edge of a six acre lake. The town shows a good mix of pleasant properties from the Tudor, Georgian and Victorian periods. The handsome Perpendicular church has two chancel chapels of the 15th-century built by local craftsmen and contains reminders of an ancient past. There is a good mixture of shops which includes specialist craft and antiques. Interesting old inns and good restaurants can be found both in and outside of the town.
