Hi Robert, do keep these little missions a coming , have enjoyed trying to put a few names to places and English Heritage sites could broaden the geographical coverage to work with.

I look forward to seeing the English Heritage pictures, we were members a couple of years ago and I've got the photos (somewhere) that we took at each location.

Well I got to admit I'm struggling on these. Pity we cannot read some of the signs on buildings then a google search might suit.

I saved the one with the Bridge to the computer and tried to zoom in on the hotel name, but it pixilates so I can't read it. The yellow sign on the left is also puzzling ?

We seem to be out of the South West now as well which makes it more difficult, if the castle is anything to go by.

Be nice if Robert could give us rough idea of an area he thinks they may be. The one of the river and bridge lends me to thinking coastal looking at the buildings on the higher levels, but that don't really narrow it down much. I tried tried running it through a sharpening programme but it is a scan of a photograph so not much hope which is a pity cos i reckon the hotel name would be enough

I'm in full agreement with you on that Dave, the hotel name would be a bonus. I was thinking if the castle is Chepstow, then maybe a seaside village in that area of Wales.

Dosen't look like anywhere I've been, I think I'd recognise the bridge.

Yeah, I was thinking along the Welsh lines for the castle and have done Wales many times over the yers and the bridge doesn't come readily to mind......Where's Vince when you want him???
