My favourite is William Wordsworth, a great poet, i have a nick name for him (willy babe)., and also a great landscape gardener, Capability Brown, who made a lot of beautiful and great landscape gardens for our historic houses.

I hope this little bit of information will help.Smile

Hi Alexis,   Two of my favourites would be Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Charles Darwin.   Brunel was one of the most versatile and audacious engineers of the 19th century, responsible for the design of tunnels, bridges, railway lines and ships. Charles Darwin was a British scientist who's theory of evolution transformed the way we think about the natural world.

Hope everything goes well with your research.  Smile

Hi Alexis----you could write volumes about any of the earlier name suggestions, as and for William Blake; probably best known for his poem  Jerusalem which later became a hymn.

Not to forget Blake's wonderful poem 'Tyger Tyger burning bright, in the forests of the night....'
