About Barbury Castle Country Park

Barbury Castle was designated a Country Park in 1971 and lies within the Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its main focal point is the Iron Age Hill Fort. The site is also a Nature Reserve and there is a diversity of wildlife to be seen. The Ridgeway National Trail runs through the centre of the park which is popular for walkers and heritage enthusiasts.
