Rowing boat Ambleside Rowing boat on the waters edge at Ambleside. Just can't not take pictures of these boats. Could hang around the piers for hours, in fact I do. One of my favourite subjects, always photogenic come rain or shine and this day it had to be RAIN. Started to clear up early afternoon. Borrans Field Daffodils 2 Another outcrop of yellow. Although just past their best they look reasonable because it had been raining all day until early afternoon. A lamb Can't really improve on the title, it's what it is, a lamb and it's mother was not very far away! Probably due to the fairly constant use of these paths the animals are quite tolerant of people and allow you to get reasonably close before moving to a safer distance This picture appears in the following picture tours: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |

Dry Stone Wall Ambleside This wall on the fells above Ambleside was at least 3 foot wide at the top maybe more. It is an amazing art building these walls. A good stone waller picks up a stone and never puts it back down always finding a place for it. Have watched demonstrations at country shows many times, fascinating stuff. Gate latch Just one of many designs of gate latch to be found around the Lakes. Must make a note to document the various designs on my next jaunt. This one specifically designed with horse riders in mind. The rider is able to hook the end of their crop into the loop and open the gate without having to dismount. Silver How is in mid distance with the Langdale Pikes bringing up the rear to the right.
