What gets me is they are saying that even with the lowered prices that people are not traveling much this year so far either...strange...below $2 an gallon here. Downtown Portland has already switched to the "Smart Car' electric system for inner city traveling. Our Govenor is over in Japan/China right now discussing electric cars they can sell here, and with the recent air stagnation alerts, we need to do something. Our govenor also asked for the schools to start paring down costs, he knows people are losing their jobs and can't take price hikes here. As an housewife, if they come up with an car to hold three kids and driver that's all electric, I'd try them out. I would still like to have one car that runs on gasoline though, preferably something that hauls things if needed...has an bit mmorepower, but if stores would deliver without costing big bucks, I'd go that route also, further away, it's often less to fly there by airlines anyway. India just became country number 4 to put their flag on the moon...welcome to the dawning of an new age perhaps in travel.

$1.75 at my local Safeway near Manassas, VA (minus the $0.30 discount with my Safeway club card) = $1.55.  Not bad, eh?

Oops!  Never was a whiz at math!  That should be $1.45 after discount.  Embarassed
