I don't know why but I never liked them. Are they supposed to be sweeter?

Simple Barbecued Aussie lamb chops

This very tasty and easy marinade for lamb chops can also be used for steaks.

ingredients

* 1/4 cup white vinegar
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 2 cloves garlic, crushed
* 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1kg lamb chops

preparation method

1. Mix together the vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic, onion and olive oil in a large resealable bag until the salt has dissolved. Add lamb; toss until coated and marinate in refrigerator for 2 hours.
2. Preheat a barbecue or grill pan over medium-high heat.
3. Remove lamb from the marinade and leave any onions on that stick to the meat. Discard any remaining marinade. Cook chops for about 3 minutes each side for medium or until cooked as desired.

Oh yes, they both sound wonderful.

When I get rich I'll buy some lamb and give both of these a try. Right now here in this little desert town, lamb is hard to find, and when it does appear, it is WAY expensive.  Silly really, as once upon a time one of the big industries here (if you can call it big, or an industry) was sheep farming. And because of that we have a HUGE Basque population (with names that are quite unpronounceable).

Hi Sue, how you doing? Can't remember the last time I bought lamb, its way overpriced here whether it comes from usually NZ or even our home grown sort so to speak.
