What about the spuds James? The weather here made sure we only got marble size tatties that burst before they are boiled, not good! Maris Piper at that!

Slight rain today, light wind and grey sky but still beautiful England!

Yesterday it was 100 º F at 5:30 PM

Last night it was hot and uncomfortable because we were out during the day, and didn't get the cooler on.

Today hot, but the cooler is on, so should be able to sleep tonight.

Cooler = air conditioner (in South Africa)?

What do you call it in England?

I don't think they are needed in England, Cathy.

Good point, Sue,  I can't imagine it being needed too often!

Do you only have heaters fitted in English cars not air conditioner/coolers?

On 27 Aug. it was hot here at the edge of the desert.  But it is slightly cooler heading for autumn.  We call ours cooling because we have the outdoor apparatus that provides cool air to our entire home.  In our car we call it air conditioner.  Speaking of global warming--why was there a morning here 9 mo. ago when it was 9 degrees F.  This is California, folks!

I wish our almost president Al Gore had never mentioned global warming, much less winning a Nobel Prize for it.
