" A good view from up here "............. Very surprised to see this heron land on the roof of a nearby house. A long way from the river but maybe checking out a fish pond ? The owner of the nearby pond told me later that he had lost most of his fish !More pictures of Chepstow by Patrick Hogan...

An unusual and attractive backdrop for this heron picture, Patrick, but as you say, his beady eye must have detected a fishy target within range.
Excellent capture Patrick.
What a great shot.
Not my favourite bird .. but this is superb Patrick
A gem of a shot; the warm oranges of the chimney and the lichens harmonise with the heron's beak.
A great shot Patrick
Wonderful capture Patrick, superb quality and in an urban environment adds that special something to the pic.
Cracking shot Patrick, spot on focus, well done
