About Oldbury Court Estate, Bristol

This country estate is a wonderland on which a grand house once stood. It was owned and lived in by the Vassall family, and although the house no longer exists the Oldbury Court Estate is still affectionately known as "Vassall's" it has become a massive, splendid open space offering enjoyment to everyone.

Here there is a rich combination of woodland, beautiful riverside walks along the banks of the River Frome, and many fascinating wildlife habitats. Meandering around you can clearly discern the input of Henry Repton, for these grounds were set out to be a constant delight at every season. You can rejoice in the beauty of springtime, marvel at the changing colours of autumn, listen in golden silence to rustling branches dipping deep into silvery waters, and be beguiled by the sweet sound of song birds.

Oldbury Court Estate is a little touch of magic located around four miles from the centre of Bristol. It offers an escape from the cares of life, has beautiful walks through the estate and one of the best children's parks in Bristol. Paths are suitable for pushchair
and wheelchair access, there is a short horse riding trail. Net fishing is allowed for youngsters, but sticklebacks caught must be returned to the water!

With plenty of lovely summer picnic spots, this is an ideal place to grab the family together for a great day out.
