About Hampton Gay

Once a thriving village with a corn mill on the river Cherwell, a farm and over a dozen cottages, Hampton Gay is now much smaller with just a few cottages, a farm, the old church and its historic manor house ruin, which is a Grade II listed building and scheduled monument. Not far from the manor house is the beautiful church of St Giles, which houses a bell dating from the mid-13th-century, making it one of the oldest in England.
Hampton Gay is often described as one of England's lost villages, and is an interesting and picturesque place to visit for a walk or picnic.
