About Wroxham

This lovely place stands on the River Bure, in recent years it has become a hive of bustling activity especially in summertime when it acts as a Mecca for boating enthusiasts who flock to the area in droves.

Essentially a summer place, Wroxham has an abundance of glorious scenery and along its lush river banks you catch a glimpse of windmills and quaint thatched cottages nestling amongst weeping willows and old oak trees. The waters of the area are home to a rich variety of wildlife with ducks and swans nesting on the river bank, often these gentle creatures can be seen jostling for food being thrown by small children from the back of a sailing boat.

Boats are everywhere, and if you haven't got your own don't worry there are plenty available for hire! Away from the water, other pleasures in this beautiful holiday resort include the Bure Valley steam railway, Hoveton Hall gardens, Wroxham barns craft centre, and naturally there is a delightful riverside park. Visitors will find an excellent choice of hotels (some overlooking the river), good pubs, restaurants and shops.

There are lots of events throughout the holiday season including a week long regatta. Wroxham sailing club can be found just a short distance away from the village at Wroxham Broad.
