Description

Bridge House Ambleside 3-10-13

Bridge House in Ambleside was built in the 17th century over Stock Ghyll allegedly to avoid certain taxes. Now owned by the National Trust and used as an information centre it is said that at one point in time a family with 6 children occupied its 2 rooms. Although it is more likely to have been as a summer house and apple store for Ambleside Hall
