The cliffs at Bempton, East Riding of Yorkshire

These spectacular cliffs near Bridlington are home to thousands of nesting seabirds. The RSPB shop located here is full of books, binoculars and everything to do with birds. Come in the breeding season for a mind blowing experience.

Soaring gannet....morus bassanus, Bempton, East Riding of Yorkshire

It's always nice to see the gannets arriving home. Their mate is always happy to see them...the same can't be said of others though. It makes for a terrific nature scene.

Red campion....silene dioica, Bempton, East Riding of Yorkshire

The cliffs are awash with these pretty flowers so if you don't particularly like birds you can take in the amazing views and enjoy a wealth of butterflies and insects as well as rabbits, stoats etc.

This is only a part of the nesting area for the gannets. It's noisy and a bit smelly but it's very interesting.

Cliff path, Bempton, East Riding of Yorkshire

This footpath gives access to all the viewing points along the cliffs and is a fairly easy walk, it's also OK for wheelchair users. Wrap up warm though, the wind can be cold!
