Newbury, Berkshire

The former American temporary bridge over the Kennet and Avon Canal was replaced a few years ago. During WW 2, there were a lot of US Army personnel in the region, with the 101st Airborne Division quite prominent in the area. It's now known as the Millennium Bridge.

In the market square in the town of Dover, is a timber-framed building called 'Dickens Corner Cafe'. So called as Charles Dickens placed his fictional character, David Copperfield, on the steps of the building that at the time was a bakery.
