I've just browsed through my picture comments and see that there are many in there that are duplicate. Is there any way I can delete these?

You can now delete comments.

Go to your 'My Comments' page, and then where you have a duplicate comment, click on the thumbnail pic of one of them to take you to the picture you commented on.
You'll notice that in the box that contains your comment there is now a 'remove comment' link, click it and the comment should be deleted.

Also, when you now make a comment on a picture, the comment should appear straight away without the need to refresh the page etc.
