I'm from Liverpool, a city blessed like most with many pubs and bars to suit all tastes. Drinking is a part of our social lives and pubs great places to meet people. Having been to Germany, Poland and Spain for holidays and business I think that most Europeans to like a social drink in places other than just their homes. It's easy to take an extra glass or two when out in such places. Like it or not, it's part of our culture, and I can't imagine it will change in the near future. Thank goodness that drinking and driving has now been reduced and the image of a drunken person behind the wheel is one that is distasteful to most of us. As a chap who likes the odd pint and taking pictures, I love capturing the fine old pubs we are blessed with and popping in for a quick glass is great fun. |
