Statue of Sir Edward Elgar, Belle Vue Terrace, Malvern

This work consists of two different and contrasting elements: the life-size bronze figure of Sir Edward Elgar standing with his left hand upon the railing, and the bold, simplified forms of the nearby fountain. Elgar looks out past the fountain towards what was the Blue Bird Tea Rooms, where he regularly had tea. The sculptor is Rose Garrard.

Wonderful image again, and I remember the Blue Bird Tea Rooms from when I was young. Sad to hear they have gone.
