Fovant badges
Cut into the chalk downs these badges represent the memory of the men who never returned from battle during WW1. Thousands of military personnel were stationed around this area and there used to be about 20 badges but the hillside has eroded over time causing some of them to disappear. In 2003 however, huge restoration work was carried out and made secure most of the site where these remaining badges lay. The larges is the Australian cap badge which is approximately 51m x 32m, thats just under half a football pitch!
