In this picture you can just see the small little buildings/shops on outer wall of church that I mentioned in another comment on church. Many years ago at this point they had what was a triangle (not roundabout) at this juction to help traffic of horse & cart's. Pictures of this can still be seen in Worthing's history book & in collectable post cards. The village then was more cut off from Worthing, had trees running all along road & the Broadwater pub was in fact further back off road with space to stable your horses. Those were the days, don't know why I said that I'm only 46.
