Description

Dower House ruins

A former hunting lodge on the Fawsley estate last inhabited in 1704. It was built for Lady Ursula, wife of Sir Edmund Knightley who owned the Fawsley estate. This place was also a refuge for Joseph Merrick .. the elephant man, in the late 1880's who used to visit as a guest of Lady Ursula. Taken from the edge of Badby wood.
