About 2 Penfold Yard

A tiny cottage, formerly part of a Penfold; sited in the conservation area of Richmond, a historic market town in beautiful Swaledale, set in a cobbled yard and having its own parking space.
This stone cottage comprises of entrance lobby, living/dining room, tiny equipt kitchen and a tiny double bedroom 4' 6' bed and en-suite. En-suite facilities are toilet, bidet, wash basin and an electric shower. The heating is via night storage heaters and also a fire place with an electric living flame in situ. The hot water is via night economy seven electricity.
There is so much to see in Richmond itself, to name but a few, the castle, the Swale with its waterfall (the Fosse), the ruins of Easby Abbey a peaceful relaxing place, the Richmonshire and the Green Howards museums, the Georgian theatre. There is plenty of scenic walking down by the river, down in Round Howe and up on the West Field. The 'Coast to Coast' walk passes through Richmond. The 'National Park' is but a few minutes walk away! The local horse racecourse is at Catterick which is but a 20minute drive away.
There are a plethora of places to eat in Richmond and you should find one to suit with it's many pubs, tea-rooms, restaurants, cafe's and take a ways.
Outside of Richmond you have the rest of the dales with wonderful landscape and views, each dale and village having it's own charm and character.
A stones throw away is the local convenience shop, however just a short walk away are all of the other shops including the Co-op, Boot's, Smiths, local butchers, bakers and not forgetting the charity shops etc.
We do accomodate one 'very well behaved dog', but please be aware that there is NO GARDEN or SECURE AREA, so dog owners must take doggy out regularly for toileting and doggy must not be left in the cottage unattended or allowed on bed and furniture. A very nice local dog walk is up on the 'West Field', just a very short walk away. Dog bowls are provided.
Extra linen for the sofa bed is available for hire at a small charge.
If you want to see more pictures please email and I will send them.
