Good sharp shot of the heron. In my experience, they usually fly off when approached.
You've done really well capturing this Heron, like Edward says they are great at flying off before you take the shot.

Well done Chris, like it. I have seen some who won't budge, had one standing on a post in the water and twenty odd minutes later it was still there- watching for a passing fish no doubt.
