Description

Windermere from the top of Wansfell

From the top of Wansfell app 430 mt above Ambleside you can see from top to bottom of Windermere. The top, northern end, is at the bottom of the photo with Belle Isle stretching across the mere at Bowness and then at the top of the photo is Lakeside, at the southern end, where you can get the train down to Haverthwaite. Just on the right is one of the lesser know tarns, Blelham Tarn.

The strong foreground contrasts well with the distant haze to provide perspective to this landscape.
