Description

Make of it What You Will at Trelissick

This is in Trelissick Park right down by the beach where the water of Carrick Roads. I am not sure what it is supposed to be other than a shelter made out of boat parts, there are a number of wooden carved pieces also there but they are more artistic carvings though. To find this structure set of from the main car park and go through the metal gates at the cattle grid next to the ice cream booth that never seems to be open when we are there. This is the beginning of The South Walk so follow the tracks in the grass looking out to the Carrick Roads and Falmouth and as you descend to waters level turn left to the beach and there you will find the structure. To continue on the South Walk walk along the beach and on the other side go through the small gate and now the walk goes through the woods that grow right to the edge of the water. To the left catch glimpses of Trelissick House with it's white columns and to the right through the trees see out to the water and the many passing boats. The path continues on it's way veering to the left as you go with now the River Fal on your left and this will eventually lead you to the King Harry Ferry. After watching the to-ing and fro-ing of the chain ferry left again and either up the narrow road or into the Gardens through the Ferry entrance of Trelissick Gardens to lead you back to the car park. One of my favourite walks when I am down there.

Well it's interesting, although it does look as though it came with the wrong set of instructions on how to put it together :) Very interesting narrative as ever Vince.
