Description

Trelissick Park and House.

Seen from the South Walk in Trelissick Park we can pause and look back to see the main facade of Trelissick House. The building looks across the Park and right down Carrick Roads ( the stretch of water that goes down to Falmouth and on out to sea ). The House has now been vacated and contents sold but was home to Leonard Davenham Cunliffe who at one time was Deputy Guvnor of the Bank of England. It passed from him to his stepdaughter Ida Copeland whose husband Ronald was part of the Spode-Copeland bone china makers. Many exhibits were housed there and when Ida left the House to the National Trust they could be seen but at very restricted times as further generations of the Copelands continued to live at Trelissick. I believe the sale of contents made over three million pounds.

Very nice shot Vince, I like the way the fence encloses the main part of the picture.
