Glencoe Glencoe village is the main settlement near Glen Coe, Lochaber, Highland, Scotland. It lies at the north-west end of the glen, on the southern bank of the River Coe where it enters Loch Leven a salt-water loch off Loch Linnhe. Gleann Comhann and Sgorr na Ciche The pointy hill on the centre is Sgorr na Ciche - this being Gaelic for, basically, 'Tit Mountain'. When the Victorians, obsessed with cataloguing everything, came across this they recorded it as 'The Pap of Glencoe' - 'Pap' apparently being the only socially acceptable term they could come up with.
