Not the Main Pond @West End

This small pond is not the pond seen in many of my West End pics but a smaller pond on the other side of the green and more or less surrounded by trees. It is more or less opposite the little church of St. George already shown on POE.

Family Day Out at West End

I do believe this is a family of Egyptian geese resting at the waters edge of the pond at West End. I think you can see about three little ones close up, another two or three top right corner and there was at least one on the water in amongst the reeds.

St.George's West End

Sitting overlooking the village green and ponds this charming little church reminds me of the similar churches found in small American communities. The church has a stain glass window over the entrance of St. George which must look quite impressive with the sun coming into the church through the window. Next to the church not in shot is the cricket clubhouse which in comparison is a modern build so all in all this must be a busy green on Sundays.

Owl Be Keeping An Eye On You

I know some of you folk like gate shots and some like bird shots so here is an all in one. I like the pose of the pic but as you will have guessed it is not what it seems. It is a straight shot of what I saw at the time on my way into the local garden centre, a display that has an appeal to it.

Easter Island comes to West End

Maybe looking a bit out of place but in reality it is no more than a garden centre statue and it caught my eye ( but not my pocket ! ). Had to crop tight to get rid of various other bits and bobs in the background.

The Day Draws To An End.

Sunset over the pond At West End and the light is fading on anymore shots so this one will have do. This is a nice spot to visit and on top of that there is a very good garden centre that is at the moment going through some major extentions- worth a visit.

OK? Who Am I ?

On the green with a pond rich in various birdlife there were about half a dozen of these characters having a mooch about. However, I have had a look through my book of winged things and the closest was an Eygptian goose but I do not think it really fits the bill. Any Twitching folk out there with a better suggestion please.

I Gotta Give This Lark Up !!

One rather tired looking reindeer in need of a rest, the round every year just seems to get bigger and bigger and the drop off at every call is more and more all the time, we need a bigger sleigh but that will be even more to pull. I keep telling the the old boy in red we need to swipe that phone box off of that doctor bloke- we would have so much more storage room and of course we can take our own TIME getting round.
