Great Mitton, Lancashire

Great Mitton is situated in the Ribble Valley about 3 miles from Clitheroe and is part of the smallest township in the Forest of Bowland. The River Ribble is in the foreground and in the distance is the ancient church of All Hallows. The first mention of a church in this place was in 1103 when Ralph the Red was rector. The present church was built in 1270 in the Gothic style.
