A picture of St Erth
Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill.

The chapel is to the left of the picture. During the Civil War, the vicarage used to stand just here. One day the Roundheads sailed up the Hayle River, as was possible in those days, and razed the vicarage to the ground. A new vicarage was then built about a quarter of a mile up the hill. In recent times some householders claim to have found musket balls while digging their gardens.
