A picture of Groombridge
One of the weatherboard and sandstone cottages in the ancient Motts Mill area of Groombridge. On a popular walking route. Situated in a deep valley this hamlet has its own charm and peacefulness. All about are sandstone outcrops known to have been used as shelters to ancient man when he hunted in the woodland. The most famous being the Harrison Rocks which is used by climbers. near by penns in the Rocks house was owned by Wm Penn who went to America and had a state named after him. Close by is the Ashdown forest home to Winnie the Pooh - M R Mcjannett (photographer)
