'The Downview

The Downview right opposite West Worthing's train station may be passed everyday by public not going in. It is a nice friendly run pub with lovely atmosphere & provides various entertainment for it's regulars including a sports theme with big screens for major events.

The Grand Victorian Hotel

Oppsite Worthing's main train station this is not only a hotel, night club but also a public house. It holds many big functions & due to station & buses being right outside many travel a long way to come here. No car park to the hotel but a multistory is just at end of road.

View from Worthing Pier

don't let the picture fool you it does look like sand but in fact it is the famous Worthing stony beach. This was taken while the Worthing yearly fair was on so this is why beach is empty as so much was going on along the prom & the parks around.

Worthing's Town Hall in Chapel Road

All the council's business is carried out here & it holds it's offices for all council payments & advice which is very disabled friendly. Plenty of bus stops in front & car parking just around the corner. It is just at entrance to town centre with main post office opposite & Musium next door to the left & main library behind with The Assembley Hall

The Clifton Arms in Worthing on the corner of Clifton Road & Tarring Road.

On entering this pub you can forget it has two bars. I've often used the pool table side where they've done karaoke nights but the bar also holds sport nights too. For a busy junction it is on it is still a popular pub with friendly regulars. This is very near to Worthing main train Station sad to say has no parking which is only thing that let's it down.

The Connaught Theatre

The Connaught Theatre in Union Place, Worthing. Home to plays and has two screen cinema. During winter home to one of Worthing's big panto productions. It was at this Theatre group workshop where Marina Sirtis (Star Trek TNG) first started her acting craft.

The Assembley Hall in Worthing. (Stoke Abbott Road) Place of concerts from rock to classical. Home to Wrestling throughout the year on Thursday nights to. Plenty of nearby easy parking.

Ok not much to say about station as most railway stations look the same. It has tried to improve not only it's look but it's other services nearby & much new building work is going up around it as the council know this is first view of Worthing so much to look forward to in future of this station & all around it. As standard it has taxi rank & buses right outside.

I think this is a lovely centre point to all the hotels that over look it. What it is well known for now is late in year it holds the free live concerts in the grounds where thousands come to watch.

The Guildebourne Centre, Worthing Town Centre, West Sussex

This has changed over the years once opened by The Wombles no less it has lost it's public house but gained so much more. OK not up to standards of other towns shopping centres but it is a lot better now it has finished it's much needed face lift.

The Chatsworth Hotel in Stein Gardens, Worthing, West Sussex

This is one of the top class hotels in Worthing & also holds rooms for personal functions like weddings to business conventions. All who I know who has stayed here has loved the service it provides.
