Prisoner's were here either held here or brought here for beheading, I can't recall what I was told. You see a Beefeater on guard outside. May 2005.

I saw this standing outside the White Tower. I would have gone into the Tower, but the line was very long. May 2005. T

At the Tower of London

Dating back to William the Conquerer, The Tower is now surrounded by metal, glass and steel. Functional, but none of the charm of true England. The moat once held the menagarie - an attraction to Londoners and visitors several hundred years ago.

A portion of the building where the Crown Jewels are displayed

I'm not familiar with exactly where, but this building was the first one I saw when I was directed to the display of the Crown Jewels. The Bloody Tower is to the left. It's late May 2005 and adready the tourists are out in force.
