The Warder Room above the Gate House

The Warder Room above the Gate House

We were able to explore above the gift shop. I'm standing in the dining/great room. That is one of the fireplaces. To the left of that is a small kitchen with two more. Behind the curtain was the bedroom area. At the bottom of the window you can just see what was the portcullis.

Looking back toward to inner entrance of Carslisle Castle

Looking back toward to inner entrance of Carslisle Castle

I was standing on a inner wall looking toward the entrance. The window on the second floor, just left of the chimney is to the bedroom area of the Warder Room. I had looked out that window which overlooks the courtyard. To the right of the chimney on ground level is the tunnel entrance to the castle. Small vehicles can drive through.
