What an area of the Great Room looks like today

Here you can see where the fireplace was and the window on the left. You can also see how the floor fit. There are indentions all around the castle that indicate where the upper floor was.

A first gilimpse of Restormel Castle

I learned that Restormel was built for leisure. The residents only had to defend themselves once. It's hard to picture any violence in the beautiful countryside.
