The Sweyn Forkbeard pub in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. An unusual name but with local connections. In 1013, King Sweyn Forkbeard of Denmark successfully invaded England and became the new king so establishing the Danish dynasty. Sweyn reigned but briefly though as he died in 1014 at Gainsborough as a result of falling from his mount.
