The Beetle and Wedge hotel The hotel is on the banks of the Thames at Moulsford in Berkshire. I took the picture from the Oxfordshire side of the river, where I lived. This stretch of the river was the setting for Jerome K. Jerome's tale "Three men in a boat". The hotel's name derives from the hammer (beetle) and wedge used to split wood.
