Description

Sweetheart Abbey, New Abbey, Dumfries & Galloway

Just driving past on my birthday and remembered the story if John Balliol and Lady Devorgilla his widow who was buried there in the Abbey "DulceCor" with his heart in a casket beside her. This happened in 1289. She founded the abbey in 1273 in his memory.
