Description

Bodgers camp at Amberley

A bodger was not a dodgy workman but a skilled craftsman who used the materials around him in woodland to make various items such as fencing hurdles and chairs. He moved his camp from place to place. This camp was set up at Amberley as a demonstration of a traditional craft and on this open day, the bonfire was going, wreathing the area in woody smoke. No sign of the bodger though...
