Description

A picture of Tongham

St Paul's Church, Tongham, dedicated 1866, has an organ from St Mary Abbot Kensington, where it was played by Mozart. Sir Peregrine Maitland (1777-1854), who commanded the 1st Brigade of Guards at the Battle of Waterloo (1815), is buried in the churchyard. (Photo taken 24 December 2003 by David H. Nash, who was born in nearby Ash Vale.)
