Description

A picture of Cheddar Caves and Gorge

Picture of the Cheddarman the way he may have looked. It's Richard Cox Gough's great-grandson behind him taking a picture. Richard Cox Gough (1827 - 1902) was the discoverer of 'Gough's Cave' which is Cheddar's most impressive cave and in which the remains were found. The Cheddar man is Britain's oldest complete human skeleton (dating from around 7150 BCE)
