Description

Mounds in the grass which indicate the site of the old village of Churchill

In 1684 the old village was burned down by a fire which destroyed 20 houses and many other buildings. A number of mounds in this field mark where some of the original buildings were. When the village was rebuilt it was built on top of the hill.
