Malham Rakes in June, looking down Malhamdale towards the village of Malham, Yorkshire

Pendle Hill, in Lancashire is on the far horizon to the left of the centre. Pendle was the scene of the trial of 11 witches in 1612, ten of whom were found guilty and hanged.
