Castle Bolton Village in Wensleydale

The first houses to be built close to Bolton Castle in Wensleydale, were for the retinue of Mary Queen of Scots, during her imprisonment in the Castle. Additional, similar stone built houses have been added more recently, but the village, named after the castle still has a small population of only 50 or 60 people.
