The Council offices are situated at St Peter's Hill, Grantham and on this day the flag was flying at half-mast as a sign of respect, at the passing of Margaret Thatcher (Baroness Thatcher former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom) who was born and educated in Grantham.

Leaving Poole harbour, the Channel was very choppy bobbing their hired boat, The Diedre, about. They abandoned their original idea, and when abeam Old Harry rock near Swanage, spread his ashes to the wind there instead.
