Description

The Thatched House pub, Stockport, Greater Manchester

Fore runner of Stockport Infirmary was a private house. “The Thatched House” on Spring Gardens was used as a free dispensary to the poor by the generous Dr Briscall. "The Thatched House" Pub now stands on this site adopting the name of Stockport's first Hospital.
