Description

Tragedy Remembered, Aust.

Underside of the M48 road bridge showing the welded construction and also one of the four cradles that are used for painting the bridge. This cradle is moved by an electric motor on either end that moves it across the bridge. On the 4th of September 1990, two men were killed when one of the motors failed and the other kept running causing the cradle to plunge into the river.
