Description

Sewerby hall

The hall is a grade one listed building erected between 1714 and 1720. The estate originally comprised of over 410 acres and was once the home of the Greame family. The estate was purchased by Bridlington Council in 1936 and was opened to the public on June 1st the same year by the famous local aviator, Amy Johnson. The estate comprises of 50 acres of multi-award winning landscaped gardens including a woodland walk, and Marie Curie daffodil trail in Spring. The formal gardens have magnificent monkey puzzle trees, reputed to be amongst the oldest in England.
