Derwentwater Independent Hostel is set within 17 acres of grounds, this Georgian mansion has a large waterfall and you can spot red squirrels in the grounds. Located in the Lake District National Park,500 feet from the shores of Derwent Water and Keswick’s town center is 5 minutes’ drive away. Orienteering courses can be arranged and there is a large area for ball games. Canoeing, windsurfing and yachting are all possible on Derwentwater. Borrowdale’s renowned climbing valley is less than 10 minutes’ drive from Derwentwater Independent Hostel. Local bottled ale is served and guests can enjoy homemade food in the dining room . Packed lunches are also available. With a communal lounge area, Derwentwater Independent Hostel also has 2 dining rooms, laundry facilities and a drying room. All rooms have bunk beds with their own light and some have lockable storage. Most bedrooms have a sink and all rooms have access to shared bathrooms.
